Measuring up

Our furniture is heavy, solid and does not come in flat pack form. Narrow doorways, tight corners and stairways can make it impossible for furniture to go where desired. Please measure carefully, as we do not offer refunds for furniture that does not fit into desired spaces.

About the Wood

Wood is a natural material, and comes in different grains and colour variations. It may have knots or cracks. Each piece will be unique; and your choice of product may not be the same piece of wood in a product photograph on our website. This is what makes our products unique; no two items will be the same. These are desirable features which demonstrate the individuality of the natural product, and will not affect durability or performance of your product. No two pieces will be the same.

Wood can be affected by different environments. A hot dry environment will cause wood to shrink, a damp cool environment may cause it to swell and crack. Moisture and sap can be pushed to the surface causing mould marks. These will not be deemed as a fault, and we cannot be held responsible. Any cracks, swelling or movements are inherent characteristics of wooden products, and will not be deemed as a fault, requiring a refund.

Caring for your Product

We recommend that you clean, re-oil or re-wax your product as and when necessary. This will protect it, seal it and restore any colour loss. If you are using a table top for writing or drawing, it may mark. Equally, placing plant pots etc in a permanent position on a table top will cause staining. We do not accept responsibility, offer guarantees, or offer refunds for items which have been over exposed to sunlight, changes in temperature, or sat in front of radiators for example.

Wood is a natural product and over time may warp, deeming an item unstable. We do not accept responsibility for this, and will not offer guarantees against this, or refunds because of it.

We do not offer refunds for items that are deemed too heavy by our customers. Please contact us on ordering if you have concerns about this. Wherever we can, we will specify approximate weights in our descriptions of products; for heavier/bulkier items.

Please expect variations in size or colour when re-ordering an item at a different time of year. As previously stated, wood is a natural product, and the timber will vary during different seasons. We do not offer a refund for these instances.


We ask for full payment to confirm your order.

We accept payments through PayPal, all major credit/debit cards and/or BACs transfer. We do not accept cheques.

We also offer a cash on delivery option. However, please note that this option is only available if we, the owners deliver your order. We cannot accept cash if our courier agent is required to make the delivery.

Your order will be confirmed once payment has been received. We will do this by confirmation email.

Lead Times

Once your order is confirmed by us, we will either deliver your item within one week, at a mutually convenient time for yourself and us.

In some instances, an item may not be ready for up to 8 weeks, as all of our items are hand carved/crafted. If this is to be the case, we will inform you of this, prior to your order/payment being processed.


We are able to deliver to the UK mainland. Highlands, Islands and some European destinations are subject to a surcharge. Please contact us for details if you require this service.

If it is not possible for us to deliver your goods personally, we will arrange a courier service of excellent quality to safely deliver your goods.

Our aim is to deliver your goods quickly and at a time that suits you. We always check our goods before packing and delivery, to ensure they meet our high quality standards that we at Woodworks pride ourselves on.

If you request a delivery date, that you subsequently have to change within 7 days of the delivery, a re-delivery fee may have to be applied. Please note that if you amend or change your initial order, extra cost and delays may result.

We are unable to remove your unwanted furniture if our furniture is a replacement/new addition.

We cannot accept responsibility for any delivery delays that are beyond our control (extreme weather, transport/fuel strikes, Christmas and Bank Holidays etc). We aim to get your order to you for Christmas, when you order gifts etc, if this has been agreed on placing of your order. However, any rare delays in this will be communicated to you; when we may need extra time to process orders.

We cannot be held responsible for delays by the courier service over the Christmas period.

We do not offer compensation for deliveries taking longer than we anticipated. We always try to work within an agreed timescale with the customer directly.

Once booked in, we try our hardest to work with both the customer and the courier to arrange delivery of your items. We do not accept responsibility and/or additional charges for customers not being in to receive their goods.

Courier hours are 8am – 6pm UK time. We cannot give you an estimated time of delivery from a courier, as this is something that is out of Woodworks control. You must be available from8am – 7pm on the day of delivery.

On occasion with courier delivery of heavier items, you may be required to assist with handling and moving of your goods. The courier service is a door to door service only. Please ensure you have adequate manpower on the day of delivery. It is at the driver’s discretion as to his/her level of assistance. We will not be held responsible for any damage or injury at the point of delivery.

You, the customer are responsible for informing us of any difficulties the courier may have accessing your property/delivery location. Any failure of delivery due to uninformed inaccessibility issues, will result in your items being returned to us, and extra delivery charges will be incurred by the customer.

Collect at an event

We offer a pay now and collect from an event service, where you can make payment in full for your product, and then collect from a show or market that we attend. Please remember to choose an event address on checkout before making payment. Once you have made payment and we have received payment we will call you to confirm and arrange a mutually convenient time at your chosen market or event.

Cancelation of Orders/Refunds & Returns

If you wish to cancel an order, prior to its dispatch time, we will offer a full refund. If the product has been dispatched, you will be liable for the delivery cost to you, and for the delivery cost to return the item. You must use our courier agent. The item must be returned within 7 days, and be in the same condition as when it was sent. We will not refund damaged goods on return
